In the last 15 days I have travelled up the coast to Gainesville to college recruit aspiring graduates then back home,  across to St.Pete for two days then back, up to Macys Hereld Sq and back home, attended two gala events in Orlando, then down to Miami for meetings…back home gearing up my preparation for a very high profile presentation to 40 top level Macy’s buyers, planners and region executives.                                             Although travel is not unusual to my job these trips have been unusually close with the added pressures of formulating a ” killer” presentation. It has been interesting to experience how Parkinson’s has coped with this very busy physical and mental workload. I would say that yes, I am tired but otherwise got the upper hand.  I really only have had one “off kilt” day and that was yesterday when I had some down time and started running a million presentation ideas through my head and began to stress. That’s when my meds are least effective. Solution….get some excersise.  Run  on South Beach, something to eat, back to the hotel…perfect!! The next few hours I lay back in a lounge chair and the ideas began to flow. What I have learned from this is sleep does not come easy and I’m ok with that however, during crunch time excersise, food and rest is more important than normal and most definitely I must drink more water when traveling

During all this I turned 62…I might add that 62 has brought on many life changing twists and turns. As my personality is one of deep contemplation, thought provoking questions and restless adventure to find the truth and deeper substance for life,  it has created turmoil and uncertainty as to what is my next adventure in life. Where can I make a difference. I live a very privileged life, do I need all this privilege ? I find myself very vulnerable to emotions and failure.

Perks of the job. Getting makeup done before gala event.

So…..a resolution again.  Climb mountains to raise awareness and funding in finding a cure for Parkinson’s. This time my children will join me. Matthew and Bronwyn will climb Mt. St.Helens with me Mother’s Day then  Bronwyn will join me July 11th on the 8day climb to summit Kilimanjaro.

Matthew is 34. He is my music soul child.  Dark brown hair and the deepest dark brown eyes I have ever seen. A smile that melts heart, tall, handsome, athletic His  heart filled with kindness for others is inspiring, his love of laughter lights up a room. He is driven to do the right thing, have integrity and respect of hard work.

Bronwyn is 37. She is my fire child. Tall, strong athletic. Beautiful blond with blue eyes that will pierce right through you. Extremely private person. Strong willed, very loyal and a confidant to her few selected friends.  Like her mother she is an effective builder of walls that shield from possible causes of emotional intrusion.

I look forward to standing on the summit of Helens with both my children in celebration of Mother’s Day.

I proudly will acknowledge the life strength of Bronwyn standing with her on the summit of our mother continent.
